Went to check out the Dead Rabbit area. The steep approach would be difficult with a class. Maybe with lots of snow and a packed out trail it would be fine. We started on the left side, One Giant Step. I thought it would be an easy WI2 ramp, but the top was WI4- so that was a surprise. And the ice was more brittle than I was expecting, so that was a surprise too. It was also tall, so that was a surprise three. With only one rope, I had to build a rap station off to the right so we could rappel from halfway up Red Stringer. Only the third flow, Dead Rabbit, is short enough to toprope. After that we went back down the hill to our old standby, Lions on the Beach, where we ran a few laps.

Saturday was much colder. Temperatures right at 0F and very windy. We decided to go to Kit Kat (aka Pitchoff Left). Because we are idiots. It was somewhat sheltered from the wind, but still very cold. I got seriously frozen setting a toprope. We each climbed one lap and then went back to the cabin to watch movies. Most sensible thing we did all day.

Sunday we lost an hour due to the time change. And had to close up the cabin. And had to drive home. Only left us with a bit of time to climb. Went to Lock Ness and got on The Best Ice Climb In The Philippines. It was very thin and challenging. We were both glad to be on toprope.
