Climbing --- 3/29/2019 - 4/7/2019 --- Cochise Stronghold, Arizona
Flew to Phoenix on Friday and drove to Cochise on Saturday. Woke on Sunday to bluebird weather. We climbed four pitches of The Wasteland then moved to Rickson's Pinnacle for the final pitch. A good start to the trip.
Monday was a less good continuation of the trip. Someone... I'm not going to name him... because his parents named him David when he was born... managed to get stuck free soloing Inner Passage. Except it wasn't Inner Passage. It was some squeeze-fest just right of IP. Camille and I tried and tried to get above him with a rope and his harness, but kept failing. With daylight running out, David managed to downclimb his route protected by some tat webbing he found on a ledge. A long day with not much climbing. This is what comes of using steroids. Hey Kids! Don't do drugs! Also, we saw pigs. Desert Pigs! This has nothing to do with drugs.
Tuesday we took a rest day, and Wednesday we climbed Days of Future Passed. Mostly to retrieve all the gear Camille and I left there on Monday. It was a fun climb. Except for the hurricane on top. Rappelling was an adventure.
Thursday we drove over to the west side and climbed Ewephoria. A much more mellow day. Camille's parents came down Thursday evening and joined us to crag at Sweet Rock all day Friday. We climbed Kit Kat, Watchamacallit, Pop Rocks, Everlasting Gobstoper, and Thingamajig.
