Jason and I taught Cornell's first vertical rescue class in Spring 2005. We spent six weeks at the climbing wall teaching our students belay escapes, load releasable hitches, knot passing, counterbalance rappels, tandem rappels, ascending with prussiks and hauling. Then we went to Peter's Kill from 4/8 - 4/10 to practice a complex rescue scenario on real rock.
