Rock Climbing --- 11/3/2006 - 11/5/2006 --- Gunks
Rather than freeze again at night, we drove to Aramy's house and were well fed by his mom. We got a shower and a warm bed. Ahhhh!
Sunday we started on Thin Slabs, my nemesis from April of this year. Aramy led the first two pitches, then I had another go a the direct finish on the third pitch. Didn't even have my screamers for the manky pins. I went back and forth between the good stance and the pin a few times. Then finally finished the traverse. Turns out everything after the pin is the easiest part. Sigh. I knew I could climb it. Very fun, glad to get that off my tick list. We just barely reached the ground with double 60m ropes.
We finished the day with Kristin leading Rhododendron. Aramy and I climbed it on TR. We also climbed Clover, a 5.7+ face climb between Laurel and Rhododendron which is quite fun and should be much more popular than it is.
