Ice Climbing --- 2/4/2007 --- Lick Brook

SICK (Staff Ice Climbing Klinic) at Lick Brook. Paul, Rebecca and I went out early (?) to set ropes. COE staff came out to climb for the day. I brought my aluminum Stubai mountaineering crampons, leather hiking boots and my Petzl mountaineering ice axe -- wanted to try climbing waterfall ice with that setup. I was able to climb solid WI2 even though the ice was relatively hard. Glad it was only about 45' of climbing because with flexible crampons and soft boots, my calves were doing all the work supporting my weight.

I didn't bring my camera. Thanks to Beth and Matt for the pictures.
