Registering at the trailhead. We always sign in and out... good practice. An hour after we signed in the rangers checked the log, saw we were headed up Trap Dike, and radioed a ranger from the Colden Hut to intercept us at Avalanche Lake so we could help the search teams.    Adirondacks -- 2/22/2009
