Ice Climbing --- 1/17/2014 - 1/20/2014 --- Adirondacks

Climbing at Deer Brook. We ascend the falls, which is mostly water, but has
some decent ice along the left side. Takes three 100' rappels to get back
to the ground. Fun adventure on a line that doesn't appear in any books
as far as we can tell. We next climbed a smaller vertical pitch just
downstream of the falls.

Met up with Adam and his Dad, Tony, across the valley from the North Face of
Pitchoff. We climbed a few different lines on Harlot. Leading the wet line
on the left side of the main flow gave me the worst screaming barfies of my
life. Rest of the day was fun.
Emily: Remind me again why you ice climb?
Me: Because it is so much fun when I stop?

Chouinard's Gully! Finally! I had bailed off the first pitch due to illness
a few years ago with Guy and Zupes. Today Tammy and I swung leads on the two long
pitches. What a stellar line and a beautiful location!
