Ice Climbing --- 12/29/2016 - 1/1/2017 --- Adirondacks

Arrived in the Dacks late Thursday and had time for a few minutes of XC skiing before dark. Friday was a late start, but we had a good time climbing Quinn the Eskimo. Saturday we were up early and at the Cascade lakes parking area by 7:30am. We climbed Cascade Falls then continued up gullies and slabs and snow wallowing through the woods to the VERY windy summit of Cascade. From there we took the hiking trail down getting back to the car at 6pm. Really fun winter adventure day! We did manage to stay awake until midnight for New Year's. Just barely. Sunday morning Emily and Miles departed for Michigan, Adam stayed with his family for another day, and I drove back to Ithaca.
